1. Take care of it
Avoid contact with rain which can damage the silk print.
Chemicals and substances containing alcohol are not recommended. Make sure that no perfume, cologne, deodorant or alcoholic beverages come into contact with your silk piece, as they can easily discolor it. For example, let your perfume dry on your skin before putting on your scarf.
Keep your piece flat or in half on a wooden or plastic hanger. If it wrinkles,iron it carefully on the reverse side, using the silk mode on your iron.
As with cashmere, moths are attracted to silk. Place your silk pieces in a dry place and place a lavender sachet on top.

2. Washing your silk piece

Choosing your detergent
Silk needs to be hand washed in cold water to keep the fabric and its shine. Choose a suitable detergent to silk. If you are not sure, leave it to a professional.
Caution! Do not use bleach Silk is a natural fiber and does not tolerate the use of bleach, as chlorine damages silk. Also ban powdered detergents. powdered detergents. When choosing your detergent, make sure it does not contain bleaching agents that can damage the fibers of fragile fabrics.
Hand wash
Step 1: Wash with cold water.
Do not soak the silk before washing it. Prepare a little soapy water (Marseille soap) or diluted with a little special silk detergent. Soak your fabric for a few minutes, rub very lightly before rinsing gently with clean water. Don't be surprised if the fabric bleeds a little, especially if your scarf is brightly colored.
Be careful! Warm and hot water can cause permanent damage.
Step 2: Rinsing
For wringingTo spin, blot the wet silk between two dry, clean towels and gently squeeze several times. Be careful! Do not rub or twist the fabric.
Step 3: drying

Caution! Do not place your silk piece folded in half on a clothesline. Also avoid exposure to the sun which can discolor, proximity to a radiator or the use of stain removers. Finally, do not use a tumble dryer.
3. Ironing your silk scarf
Iron your silk fabric or garment inside out to preserve its shine and avoid iron marks. Lightly dampen the fabric and then set your iron to low or silk.
4. Wash in machine ?
Do not wash silk in the washing machine as it will lose its shine and may damage the threads.
Be careful! Once the silk has been permanently damaged by washing, you will not be able to do anything else.
