Lyon & Italian printing

Lyonnaise Clothing

Dor centuries, silk artisans in France's Lyon region and Italy's Lake Como have competed for excellence in these two cradles of exceptional craftsmanship. Weavers rub shoulders with textile finishers to create dyed fabrics, jacquards, brocades and printed silks. At Petitjean Paris, we work with two prestigious silk workshops, one established in the Lyon region over a hundred years ago and specializing in silk, and the other established on the shores of Lake Como in the 1940s.

These workshops print our designs on large silk panels, using high-precision tools that enable us to render every detail of our prints.

Eco-friendly production

Eco-friendly production

N
e have chosen to produce locally, but also responsibly. Our two workshops on either side of the Alpine border comply with the latest environmental standards, one with the GOTS label and the other with the OEKOTEX label.
The OEKOTEX label guarantees the total absence of harmful substances in a textile product, for both people and the environment, throughout the production chain, while the GOTS label is based on 5 characteristics: the organic agricultural origin of the fiber, the prevention of the ecological impact of textile processing, the prevention of social risks (workers' health in particular), and the guarantee of the quality of the finished product.

These labels are accredited by independent bodies.

As a pioneer in an industry known for its pollution - dyeing - our finisher was awarded the ISO 14001 standard in 2015 - a standard that provides a framework for the environmental performance of a workshop, which is rarely granted in dyeing.

In addition, the workshop has received the OEKOTEX label: a label that guarantees the total absence of harmful substances in a textile product, for both humans and the environment, throughout the production chain.

French manufacturing

After our designs are printed, our squares, bracelets and lavallines are made in two workshops, one in the Lyon region and the other on the shores of Lake Como. The makers roll the edges of our squares and assemble our lavallines and bracelets: they assemble and sew them.

Then comes the quality control stage, before our pieces are dispatched in their respective boxes and cases. The cards we enclose with your orders are printed in Paris, and our square boxes are made in a Parisian cardboard mill.

After the printing of our patterns, our carré scarves, bracelets and ribbon scarves are made in our own workshop, also located in the Lyon region. The seamstresses roll the edges of our scarves and assemble our ribbon scarves and bracelets: they assemble and sew them.

Then comes the quality control stage, before our pieces are shipped in their respective boxes and cases. The cards that we enclose with your orders are printed in Paris on recycled paper, and our boxes of carré scarves are made in a Parisian cardboard factory. The only exception is the small boxes of our silk bracelets which are made in Belgium.
