Episode 1: Contrast.

Knowing your natural contrast is an essential step in knowing which colors make you look your best. But what exactly are we talking about?

💫 Determine its contrast

Contrast refers to the difference in visual intensity between your hair, skin and eyes. Based on this natural opposition, there are three profiles: high, medium or soft contrast.

  • If your hair and/or eyes are dark and your skin very light (or vice versa), you have high contrast - like Sophie Marceau or Leïla Bekhti.

  • If the differences are moderate, you're in medium contrast. Look at Audrey Fleurot or Noémie Lenoir.

  • If skin, hair and eyes are close in intensity (e.g. ash blond, fair skin, gray eyes), you probably have a soft contrast. Think Vanessa Paradis or Mélanie Laurent.

💡 Simple tip: take a black-and-white photo of your face, without makeup, in natural light. Observe the level of contrast between your features.

💫 O nce you've identified the contrast, which scarf colors should you choose?

Contrast means choosing a scarf with shades that naturally draw light onto your face. The idea is not to lock yourself into a color palette, but to know how to adapt the shades to your desired effect.

💡If you like to play with contrasts different from your natural one, consider rebalancing the whole with harmonious makeup.

  • Respect your contrast, to enhance your natural beauty.

  • Reinforce your contrast for an assertive, structured look.

Forêt bracelet

Here, our model has low contrast: pale skin, light eyes, blond hair. She's wearing a Forêt Braceleta dark blue scarf, which adds a very strong intensity, structuring her outfit. Why does it work? Thanks to a very soft make-up, which enhances the low contrast of her face and balances the whole.

  • Soften your contrast for a softer, more poetic look.
